There’s a DEAD BIRD IN THERE!!!

Posted by: Lisa  :  Category: Ramblings

So, for Thanksgiving, i decided to go all Martha Stewart and brine my turkey in a honey brine.  I put the turkey and the brine in a huge cooler and put it outside to stay cold. About 11pm I brought it inside to the mudroom so that it was safe from animals:)

So Thanksgiving morning I ask Ben to bring it in so I can start cooking the turkey.  He brings the cooler into the house and opens it up and exclaims “There’s a DEAD BIRD in there!”.   I of course screamed “WHAT!??!?!?!!?!?!?!?”.

I’m imagining this little robin type bird floating dead in the water….
And of course, my husband starts laughing his butt off.  “I can’t believe that actually worked!!!! AH HA HA HA HA.”

OH.    He was talking about the turkey.      JERK.    ;)

That is weird lol. If the cooler wasn’t outside almost all day the night before, and I wasn’t in a house full of people trying to get the turkey done, I MAY have caught it right away lol.

I would have killed him. There are only 2 times I do NOT have a sense of humor. Thanksgiving morning when I’m trying to get dinner prepared and Christmas afternoon when I’m trying to get dinner prepared. Those dinners are high stress with the amount of family we have coming over that he knows not to mess with me. He would have ended up with the cooler on his head. lol
